Nick Schupbach leads Ceres' water resource investments via Appia Farms. His responsibilities include deal sourcing, financial modeling, industry and investment research, and managing a robust due diligence process.
Prior to joining Ceres in November 2024, Nick co-founded Appia Capital Partners in 2023, a natural resource investor focused on the development of critical natural resources. Prior to Appia, Nick was the Head of Natural Resources for the Barings Private Equity / Real Assets (“PERA”) team, the successor firm to real asset investing pioneer Wood Creek Capital Management (“Wood Creek”). At Barings and Wood Creek, where Nick spent 17 years, Nick was responsible for sourcing and underwriting Natural Resources investments across water, farmland, timber and carbon sectors. Prior to that, Nick worked for hedge fund Rayner & Stonington, where he was a foreign exchange analyst and trader.
Nick holds a B.S. in Finance and an M.S. in Global Financial Analysis from Bentley University, where he was a recipient of the Chancellor’s Scholarship. Nick is also a CFA charter holder and an Eagle Scout.
